Description

The Somerset project is a substantial new addition for a professional family to an existing cottage on the esplanade in Somerset Tasmania overlooking Bass Straight.

The addition elevates the previously single level cottage to allow for sweeping coastal views from Burnie looking south to Table Cape in the north. At the request of the owners, the design accommodated a new master bedroom located to capture views of the sunrise on Table Cape. The owner’s photography studio and secondary living areas are also accommodated on the upper level. These flow to the upper terrace looking out to Bass Strait.
